Oahu's population is expected to grow by 200,000 people by 2030. There will be 750,000 more daily trips by 2030 and traffic congestion will be worse than it is today.
The Alternatives Analysis showed:
- a Fixed Guideway Transit system could reduce future traffic congestion by 11%;
- the Managed Lane (Toll Lane) would increase future traffic congestion by 0.6%;
- and a Bus-only option would reduce future traffic congestion by 1.3%.
